Assistant Conservation Commissioner of Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), Jully Lyimo announced to a delighted UK audience that there would be no park fee increases in Tanzania's national parks, for at least 12 months.

Talking to an exclusive audience of UK-based representatives of Tanzania's private sector on Monday 17th March, Ms. Lyimo explained that whilst 2026 rates are currently being debated, there would be no increase until March 2026 at the earliest.

The delighted audience heard TANAPA's commitment to making staged increases, rather than any large scale hikes, with a minimum 12 months notice period given before implementation, in all cases.

Ms. Lyimo added "We want to ensure all stakeholders are given fair warning of any increase and that everything is done in moderation and reflects market needs".

Tim Valentine Gold - Regional Sales Manager for Nomad Tanzania - responded by saying that "It is so refreshing and encouraging that TANAPA has taken this approach, with the minimum 12 month notice period so essential for our planning and sales efforts".
