Green cuisine
The emphasis at all LABA LABA safari camps and Fanjove Island is wholesome gourmet
cuisine based on 80% organic food production, working closely with local farmers to ensure the highest quality of produce in the kitchen.
Premium alcohols (except champagne) are included at all properties, including a small selection of delicious organic wines from France and South Africa.

A pristine paradise off the coast of Tanzania where the azure waves of the Indian Ocean kiss white sandy shores, LABA Fanjove is an exclusive retreat, where the rhythm of life is
dictated by the tides and the sun. Time slows down, inviting nature's beauty to unfold in its most unspoiled form.

The new spa overlooking the ocean offers guests the healing power of seawater in new
thalassotherapy treatments while kids are kept busy at the new Kids Club. There are
increasingly more activities for all the family, with a new boat to enjoy and an upgraded
diving team to lead guests through pristine dive sites.
Back on the island, dining includes under the stars and private sandbar picnics led by Michelin-trained Chef Edmund.

LABA JONGOMERO
Private game drives for a personalized and exclusive safari experience in remote corners of Ruaha National Park, in a landscape of incomparable beauty with millennial baobabs and forests of large acacia trees, and home to the greatest elephant population. Choose a morning with bush breakfast, afternoon with bush sundowner cocktail or for the more adventurous, a full day private game drive with Bush lunch.
Walking safari from July to mid-December allows guests over 16 to fully immerse in the surrounding nature and wildlife, with the thrill of getting up close and personal with the animals and to learn to identify which footprints belong to which native animal species.
Night safari is an experience like no other to meet animals that are less present during the day such as porcupines, bush babies, the white-tailed mongoose and perhaps even the elusive aardvark.
Bathing in volcanic springs is the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day, soaking in the hot natural pools at Bush Thermal Spa, pampered with drinks, towels and sunbeds.
Hot-air balloon safari is a must! With the first rays of sunshine between June and October, discover the exceptional landscapes of the Ruaha on a one-hour flight with breakfast, as the wildlife begins to come alive and the felines set off on their first hunt.

Guests are provided with a private vehicle and guide to define their own pace, be it up close to huge migrating herds, witnessing the intense activity of the rutting season or simply enjoying the flora and fauna.
One full day private game drive with a picnic lunch to fully immerse in the heart of this East African wildlife spectacle witnessing zebra and wildebeest roaming the Serengeti on a quest for lusher pastures.
One private game drive and one walking safari offers contrasting experiences covering a large expanse in private 4 x 4 with a personal experienced guide and the magic of immersing in the surrounding nature and wildlife on foot to track the animals for a close encounter.
Two walking safaris will take guests on a distinct journey each time. An armed guard and ranger accompany each safari on foot where guests have the opportunity to get close to the surrounding fauna and flora, and also learn to identify which footprints belong to which native animal species on a two-hour walking safari.
Olduvai Gorge and Shifting Sands on private basis is easily accessible when camp is set up in Southern Serengeti from 10 December until the end of March. Guests can explore the most important paleoanthropological sites on the planet, following the discovery of a series of fossils that document the evolution of mankind. Later in the day guests experience the mysterious Shifting Sands, a volcanic ash dune that moves across the desert at a rate of approximately 17 metres each year.
Hot Air Balloon Safari soars above the vast plains of the Serengeti on an unforgettable journey with breakfast and a glass of bubbles, drifting silently with a bird’s eye view across the migrating herds. This elevated vantage point allows a true appreciation of the wildlife and the sheer expanse of this iconic wilderness, offering a once-in-a-lifetime perspective on the beauty of Africa.
LABA SIWANDU
An exceptional lakeside safari experience in the Nyerere National Park, Siwandu offers the best of both water and land safaris in the camp’s contrasting habitats. Guests choose from two of the following activities each day to benefit from the diverse and abundant flora and fauna:
Private game drives can take place morning and afternoon, personalised and exclusive, travelling with a private guide in a mythical old Land Rover with modern comforts into the vast surrounding landscapes teeming with wildlife. Bush breakfast and bush sundowner cocktail as well as chilled refreshments are available on the way.
Walking safari takes place in the camp surroundings, with the possibility to explore fauna, flora and even wild animal footprints. There is a strong possibility that you will cross paths with elephant on this adventure, accompanied by an armed ranger and a Maasaï community member.
Boat safaris take place on neighbouring lake Siwandu and following the Rufiji River, engaging guests in a magical water experience with abundant flora and fauna, away from the mainstream tourist circuit. The water safari allows guests to get incredibly close to the animals, often much closer than is possible on land, offering unparalleled opportunities for photography.
Pontoon boat lunch cruise converges nature and luxury while gliding across the shimmering waters of Lake Siwandu as the lush landscape unfolds on a floating safari water experience with lunch.
As wildlife roam the shores and waters in natural harmony, Chef prepares a gourmet lunch of fresh local ingredients including grilled fish, vibrant salads and tropical fruits, all while hippo and crocodile curiously watch from the middle of the lake and elephants meander through the trees.
Night safaris bring guests a variety of options to fully immerse in this rich African wilderness. A night safari is an exhilarating adventure on foot or by 4x4 vehicle that offers a completely different perspective on wildlife. As darkness falls, the landscape transforms, and the nocturnal world awakens. Guided by expert trackers on a journey through the wilderness, guests hope for the thrill of catching sight of night predators.
Fishing is a great experience on both the lake and river which allows both seasoned anglers and beginners to connect with nature as they cast their lines into tranquil waters. The local catch tends to be catfish which can weight anything up to 25kg and is operated on a catch and release basis.
LABA FANJOVE
Marine safari is a great way to explore the thriving marine ecosystem surrounding Fanjove. A three-hour water safari brings close encounters with Spinner and Bottlenose dolphins, Green and Hawksbill turtles and a variety of marine species and it’s even possible to swim alongside.
Snorkelling in a pristine underwater world with vibrant coral reefs teeming with colourful fish such as Parrotfish, Angelfish, Butterflyfish, and Damselfish. With welcoming water temperature of 28°C and incredible visibility up to 30m, the waters of the Songo Songo archipelago are ideal for snorkelling and diving from both the beach and boat.
Sandbank excursion at low tide is a popular activity for families and couples. Guests are taken by boat to a secluded sandbank from where they enjoy four hours of snorkelling, swimming and watching for dolphins, then relax with an excellent lunch of grilled fish prepared by the LABA Fanjove team on the beach.
Dhow Sailing on a traditional East African coast sailing vessel is a memorable 2-hour sundowner excursion under the multi-coloured skies of Fanjove at sunset in the timeless grace of a wooden dhow.
Sea kayaks and paddle boards offer a natural and carefree way to explore the island, its impressive cliffs and surrounding waters. It’s a great way to birdwatch and Fanjove is a true paradise for bird enthusiasts.
Bird watching from November to March on Fanjove is a remarkable experience as it becomes a sanctuary for migratory and resident bird species. The island’s pristine environment and quiet, undisturbed landscapes create an ideal haven for seabirds and shorebirds. A good pair of binoculars from a discreet lookout spot bring rewards of Frigate birds, Crab Plovers, Sooty Terns, Sandpipers and migratory waders.
Fanjove nature trail allows guests to channel their inner Robinson Crusoe and venture on foot through the coconut trees to explore the island. Maps are on hand or indeed a local guide can offer insights into the island, its history and customs.
Fitness at ocean-view gym at Fanjove offers a range of workouts, from cardio and bodybuilding to crossfit with high quality Technogym equipment. The island also has plenty of running trails.
Kid's Club is newly opened for kids between 2 and 12 years old with a great variety of fun and educational activities for kids under the supervision of two team members. With opening hours between 10am and 9pm there’s plenty of flexibility to enjoy adult exclusive time knowing the kids are having fun.
Enjoying the art of laziness is an skill to be perfected, particularly after a few days of safari. Fanjove is about daydreaming, reading and curling up in your private hammock.

In a natural setting with sea view, guests can enjoy a therapeutic treatment focused on sea-based benefits including new thalassotherapy treatments of hydromassage bath, marine shower and optional massage.
Full day at Mafia Island offers adventure in another unspoiled tropical paradise known for its marine park of vibrant coral gardens, sea turtles and array of colourful fish. Between July and November the speedboat whisks guests to an incredible day of swimming, snorkelling and even possible encounters with whale sharks.
Whale watching is an incredible sight in the waters of Fanjove which offer the perfect marine ecosystem for humpback whales migrating from cold southern waters to tropical equatorial waters and back. Humpback whales transit the channel between mainland and Songo Songo archipelago every year between July and October, some even make the passage between Songo Songo and Fanjove in calmer waters, providing breathtaking sightings on this 3-hour voyage. They reach the warm, low latitude tropical waters to breed and give birth and they go back to cooler, polar waters to feed.
Fishing is available upon request through the Reservations Team who will be happy to arrange a tailor-made fishing trip for guests. Catch and release policy is practiced on Fanjove in the interest of protection of local marine life.
Dive Centre at Laba Fanjove offers exceptional diving opportunities through the professional PADI team of instructors. Intact coral reef stretches for 11km around the island, enabling views of stunning marine landscapes, incredible varieties of coral, and numerous species of fish.
